We had been wanting to the San Diego Zoo and we were finally able to set a weekend aside to go. We went on a weekend where it had been pouring all day and they had warned people to stay off the roads, we almost rescheduled it, but we decided to just go. We left Friday night and got to San Diego around 12am. So were able to enjoy San Diego Zoo on Saturday.
We had planned to go to Hash House a Go Go but the line was so long we decided to go to get some bagels at a different store, which were very delicious and were a better choice so we could get to the Zoo quicker. I have heard Hash House a Go Go is a must so we will definitely be going back for that. I was bummed (& I still am) that we didn’t get to eat there.
The San Diego Zoo was a good time, now I can cross it off my bucket list.
Oh and this leopard was my favorite one because it reminds me of myself when I’m trying to make up my mind haha. Isn’t it too adorable <3
Next on my list is holding a Koala Bear 🙂
I was so lucky to have cousins who live in San Diego (Thanks Rafita and Sharina!!) they were able to recommend some good places to go to. They told us of a lot of different places so we definitely need to go back, but Saturday night we decided to go to Florent and to Jolt’n Joes in Gaslamp.
I typically drink Jack and Coke but I figured I’d go with something different so I asked the bartender to surprise me and she made me a Copper’s Star Cocktail and it was the best moscow mule I have ever had and my boyfriend got a beer, of course 🙂
Jolt’n Joes was a very relaxing place to hang out for the night. I really enjoyed it since it wasn’t over crowded and we got to play some ping pong.
& Lastly on Sunday (Since we only went for the weekend) We went to this amaaaazing breakfast spot called Elixir Espresso Bar. I looked it up on Yelp and saw that they had these delicious crepes. So I couldn’t resist… just look at them. My boyfriend isn’t too fond of the nutella and excessive sugar so I was happy to see that they also had a crepe with ham, egg and cheese.
But just look at that crepe!!! Makes my mouth water each time I look at it.
Oh and the cappuccino was good too !! (Thats ^^^my boyfriend)
Props to the lady who was working that espresso bar all by herself & she still had time to decorate my drink 🙂
Yesterday felt nice being able to get out of Santa Barbara and Ventura for the day. My boyfriend decided to take me to Dukes in Malibu and I have to say it is a very nice restaurant. Great Views and Great food!
First of all the drive on the PCH is very beautiful and relaxing!
Once we got to Duke’s they gave us an estimate wait time of about 30-45 minutes, which we thought was a long time but it was a perfect excuse to go to their Barefoot Bar 🙂
For some reason I have been into Moscow Mules so I saw they had a Hawaiian Mule on their menu so I had to try it! It didn’t beat the one I had in San Diego though. My boyfriend tried the Duke’s Blonde, which was pretty good beer!
The wait wasn’t too bad since we were at the bar. It actually felt like 20 minutes so that was nice. I fell in love with the view that we had from our table! The sun had already set, but it was still pretty!
First they brought us bread and ohh mahh gash… I fell in love. You have to have their bread with butter, especially when the bread is still warm. We ordered the Crab and MacNut Wontons (since we love the ones from Spencer Makenzie’s), but I wasn’t too fond of them, the mustard plum sauce was too over powering and lets just say, I’ll stick to the wontons from Spencer’s, but if you like Crab and Mustard it’s worth a shot.
My boyfriend had Filet Mignon and I had the Parmesan Herb Crusted. They were both very delicious. The portions looked small but its definitely quality over quantity at Dukes. And after all the bread I had, it was a perfect amount and I still ended up being stuffed afterwards.
We will definitely be going back to try different dishes, to have more bread, haha, and to be seated while the sun is setting.
Happy Friday 💗
Today I started running again, which felt soo good. I ran along the beach and I have to say it was a bit difficult since its my first day getting back to running. I ran 3.1 miles in 31 minutes (and stopped a couple of times to take pictures 😏)
I ran all along the beach, next to the 101 Freeway with a beautiful view.
My goal for this run was to run 3 miles. I didn’t set a time goal because I just wanted to get into the rhythm of running, so I felt like making it under a certain time would set me up for failure.
For me running is very relaxing. It gives me time To think and to eventually let all those thoughts go, so by the end of the run i feel amazing. If you enjoy running you will understand how you can compare these long runs to a therapy session.
How will you not want to run with a beautiful view like this?!

The only time I thought about Seattle was when I watched Grey’s Anatomy and I’m obsessed with McDreamy and still sad that he dies in the show… (sorry if I ruined it for you). So. Seattle was definitely on my Bucket List! Then when I knew my best friend was going to go to school at Seattle University I thought now is my perfect chance to go!
So, I went to Seattle for a few days and got to explore.
When I watched Grey’s Anatomy I would always wonder if it would really rain all the time? And well the few days I was there I realized the weather was bipolar; it would rain, then a couple hours later it would get sunny and hot then it would start sprinkling. So I had a difficult time packing for weather because my friend couldn’t tell me how the weather was in Seattle. That was the first time I had been there so he took me to the touristic places like Pike Place Market, Space Needle, the Gum Wall, the Gas Works park.
I loved the views from Space Needle! Prime time to go up there is an hour or so before the sun sets so you can go up there and enjoy before and after the sun sets.
Definitely want to go back and hopefully next time I can take my boyfriend and we can both go explore the cute little places in Seattle, WA that tourists don’t know about.
Especially the food places and hikes! So if you are from Seattle and have some places that you absolutely love, email me or comment any places please! I would love some recommendations!
Hope you have a lovely day and thanks for letting me share my experience with you 🙂
Our breakfast after our long day exploring San Diego. I woke up at 7:30am (surprisingly) woke my boyfriend up so we can have breakfast. It was pouring in the morning, but I was just craving this place because I looked it up on Yelp, it had good reviews and it looked adorable, Elixir Espresso Bar in San Diego.
He was too sweet and dragged himself out of bed for me and walked in the rain – about a 10 min walk- but he thanked me after.
The crepe I had was filled with strawberries, bananas and nutella and topped with more nutella and powdered sugar. Luckily they also had breakfast crepes with eggs and ham which were pretty good and perfect for him since he doesn’t have too many sweets… only when I convince him to have some.
Well worth the walk in the rain 🙂
Joe’s Cafe waffles is one of my favorite places in Granada Hills, CA. I found out about this cute little place when I was going to school in CSU Northridge. Joe’s Cafe used to be very small when I lived there. Then I recently drove an hour with my boyfriend to have him try this place and they had made their place bigger which was very nice to see because that meant a shorter wait! They have the best waffles I have ever tried! If you know me you know that I am a chocolate lover and I will eat it with anything and everything, so I had to have chocolate chips with my waffles and they are delicious!
I am so excited to finally be able to get to my first post!!
I’m very happy and proud of myself to actually get this blog going that I have no idea where to start. I started this blog to mainly document about all the things in life that make me happy and to spread the happiness. I believe we can all spread happiness by sharing our experiences and trying new things. Who doesn’t love good food! I am always very happy when I eat. When something looks really good, I always take out my phone because I HAVE to capture the deliciousness. So you will be coming across a lot of food, and I hope to eventually get to sharing my mom’s Amazing recipes of yes, Mexican food! Because I want to be able to cook the food the way she makes it.
Aside from food, I will also be sharing any traveling experiences. I would love to travel and have memories of every place I go. They won’t always be out of state, or out of the country but sometimes of little towns that are nearby. I love all the little restaurants that only Locals know of…. (of course there’s food when you travel). You know a place is good when some local from a town tells you “Oh you REALLY need to try this place”… it’s those kind of places that I really enjoy. I love getting places recommended to me. If its trails to go hiking, food places, a great place where you get a good sunset view, or simply a nice park to take a walk. These are the things I would love to share so every one can be happy with the simple things we come across.
If you come across anything you love, like, or dislike on my blog please I encourage you to share with me through comments or emails.
Thank you for joining me!
